My love of books began a long time ago.  But it was only since my daughter was born that I realized my passion for children’s books.  When Grace was just 20 months old, we enrolled her in a cooperative preschool.  As members of a cooperative preschool, I was expected to volunteer in the classroom and in day-to-day business operations.  I became interested in early childhood education and went on to teach a preschool class of my own.  I now work as a part-time preschool teacher, working under early childhood education expert Deborah Stewart of Teach Preschool.

As my boss and mentor, Deborah challenges me and pushes me out of my comfort zone.  With her guidance, I’ve learned so much about early childhood education, blogging, social media, and other technology.  These are skills that I am fortunate to have gained because they have proven to be useful in graduate school.

And with a collection of over 1,000 picture books, Deborah’s love of children’s literature inspires me!  You can see what types of books we are reading by visiting us on Library Thing.
